Schwarzkopf Essential Looks S/S 2014 – Style-Tec Collection
Style-Tec Collection, Schwarzkopf Professional Essential Looks for Spring/Summer 2014
From pioneering trends to what’s in vogue, the world of hairdressing is constantly evolving and growing with tones set by international runways. More than just a business, hairdressing is a craft to be mastered, an attitude to be unleashed, and a style to be embraced. Entitled as the Style-Tec Collection, Schwarzkopf Professional Essential Looks for Spring/Summer 2014 plunges you into a realm where technology meets style, where true creativity stems from technical expertise.
Held at The Rockwell Tent on 29 April 2014, The Style-Tec Collection’s inimitable trends of asymmetry, metallic colors, and tones of pastel took the local hairdressing industry by storm. Among the hundred-strong crowd of attendees were renowned hairstylists and salon owners alike, taking trend inspiration from the catwalk to recreate. Schwarzkopf Professional ambassador Rene “R2” Tolentino brought to life the three (3) key trends—Candy Dandy, White Hot, and Metallxx—tailored to a Filipino hairdresser’s needs.
Candy Dandy – Rounded fringes with eye-catching pastel shades
Harmonizing with the sugary creations of distinguished fashion designer Eric de los Santos, the Candy Dandy trend kicks the eye-catching pastel tones up a notch with shapely silhouettes and bold detailing. Romantic yet modern, this cut direction has rounded fringes, but the overall shape has a square outline with longer layers. Whether on short directional haircuts or long hair variations, rounded fringes dominate throughout this trend look whilst the color palette of soft smoky greys, apricots and pale blondes all help to enhance the Candy Dandy vibe.
White Hot – Asymmetric shapes shot through with red tonal combinations
Delicate, elegant, and seductive, White Hot combines the soft colors of milk and ivory with the fiery shades of scarlet and crimson to bring a pop of spice. This trend offers asymmetric shapes shot through with red tonal combinations. The dominating aspects of the White Hot haircuts are flatter internal shapes which are offset with variations of asymmetry. As complemented by fashion designer Michael Leyva’s creations, the colors used throughout are predominantly red tonal combinations to add instant interest in the hair.
Metallxx – Shorter internal layers with cool metallic colors
For the bold and daring, the metallic trend blazed a trail through the catwalks and sidewalks of the world’s fashion capitals with shimmering fabrics, bold embossing, and detailed embroidery. Complemented by hairstyling in cool metallic tones, the Metallxx trend is nothing short of modern allure and glamour. Shorter internal layers combine with longer outline shapes which fuse together with the cool Metallic colors delivering a sophisticated look.
